Type 2 Diabetes - The Ins & Outs October 03, 2022 Alternate Text
MORE BLOGS

How did this happen and what can I do about it? Let’s dive right in!

We eat food to fuel our bodies and that fuel is seen by the body as glucose (sugar).

This sugar belongs within the cells, not continually circulating freely in your bloodstream.

Insulin is the hormone that regulates the movement of glucose into the cells and because the cells don’t interact in the right way with insulin, they don’t top up with fuel and take enough glucose out of the bloodstream. This imparted regulation means you are insulin resistant and have too much sugar in your blood.

When the pancreas does not produce enough insulin and the cells are insulin resistant, your body is impaired in the way it regulates and uses glucose as fuel.

This puts you on the path to becoming pre-diabetic and if it’s left unchecked, a type 2 diabetic.

How do you know? Well it comes on slowly but you will notice things such as:

    ⁃    Blurred vision

    ⁃    Increased thirst

    ⁃    Increased hunger

    ⁃    Increased fatigue

    ⁃    Increased urination

    ⁃    Increased infections

    ⁃    Difficulty in healing sores

⁃    Numbness and tingling (hands and feet)

    ⁃    Areas of darkened skin

⁃    Increased fat around the waist

Eventually, high blood sugar levels can lead to disorders of the circulatory, nervous, and immune systems.

Understanding how glucose works will clarify the role of insulin. Glucose comes from two major sources: food and your liver. When your glucose levels are low because you haven’t eaten in awhile, your liver will break down stored glycogen into glucose to keep your levels normal. This is possible because your liver stores and makes glucose.

This process needs to work properly and when it doesn’t, is often the reason the pancreas ultimately fails in meeting the body’s insulin demands. Often, the need of medication is required in order to lower blood sugar levels. Prevention is always advocated as the first line of defence and comes in the form of healthy eating, weight management, staying in action with a regimen of exercise, and paying attention to limiting prolonged exposure to a sedentary lifestyle like having a desk job.

However, here is the interesting part! What if there was access to taking back control of your blood sugar if you are already a type 2 diabetic? What if there was a program that was designed to rejuvenate your body to have a different approach to managing its own blood sugar that showed you results in only 31 days?

Your body once knew how to do this and it hasn’t forgotten. It only needs to be led down a path that will allow for the rest, repair, and rejuvenation of the body’s natural function without forcing or tricking it to do so. It’s called APEX31 and it’s waiting for you.
